On behalf of the leadership here at Grace Community Church of Long Beach (GCCLB), I would like to extend to you a hearty welcome to our website. Our prayer is that you will find the resources and ministries we offer, something you have been prayerfully looking for.
Scripture communicates several essentials that must be consistent when believers gather: worship through preaching, singing, baptism, communion, and giving.
The preaching is expositional in nature, consisting of a consecutive teaching through individual books of the Bible. We believe this is consistent with the biblical pattern of teaching and is the best way to unpack the truths in God’s word.
Our worship is blended––traditional and modern songs that glorify the greatness, faithfulness, love, and power of God. Songs should reflect what Scripture reveals about God and man’s response to who He is and what He has done.
Baptism is a commandment mandated by Christ before His ascension to heaven. Baptism is an outward testimony of a person’s new identity with Christ: buried with Christ in baptism and raised to new life in Christ. They are identifying with fellow believers their new life in this fellowship (Matthew 28:19).
Communion is another ordinance that Jesus left with His disciples. The purpose of communion is to reflect and remember the great sacrifice of the Savior in our place. Jesus said that when we do this we are remembering His body that was offered as a sacrifice and His blood that was poured out for us (Luke 22:19-20).
