Truth by Seymour Helligar

If one were to look back and observe the history of mankind, it would reveal, among many things, that he has been on an extended journey for truth. This ancient quest began after the fall, beginning with the serpent’s timeless question, did God truly say (Genesis 3:1). From that time forward, the idea of obtaining truth or searching for truth rested in a person’s faith in what God said.

Fast forward a few millennia and a ruler by the name of Pilate asked the question of the ages, “What is truth” (John 18:38)? Sadly for him, his question could have been answered because the source of truth was standing before him! Today the source of truth stands before the world, and oh would they just listen! According to Francis Schaeffer, “The present chasm between the generations has been brought about almost entirely by a change in the concept of truth.”[1]

Yet the Bible declares truth can be known through God’s word. Truth begins with God because He is the God of truth (Numbers 23:19). Therefore truth can be known and has been made known.

Meet us at Grace Community Church of Long Beach as we learn from God, the only objective source of truth, through His word––explained and proclaimed (Colossians 1:28).
